State of the art Root canal treatment

Can I benefit from advanced endodontic technology?

Yes! The technology available to endodontists is changing the way patients can get dental care. Your treatment experience, success and outcome could be significantly improved by visiting an endodontist who employs the use of state of the art equipment. If your root canals are cleaned and disinfected superiorly, they will last longer. If your treatemnt is done with detail, the longer will your tooth be a healthy part of your body.

Your natural tooth is the best Implant!!

Microscope

Some of the advanced technologies we use in our clinic include:

Magnified vision of root canals with Surgical Microscopes – {4 step magnification by Global USA}. Root canal walls cannot be disinfected to the glassy look unless they are seen under a high magnification microscope. The use of a microscope with a trained root canal specialist can lead to finding canals that would otherwise go unseen and untreated.

Dr. Nandana’s Dental Clinic

Your root canals are NOT not the “hollow tubes”, which have been categorized for more than 50 years as one canal or 2canals or 3canals or 4 canals. Today the root canals are discovered to be systems… like a river with its tributaries.

WHY A MICROSCOPE?

As you can see from the image, this kind of complex canal intricacy can only be observed and treated with high magnification microscopy. We treat YOUR root canal systems under Global Microscopes {USA} to develop a complete understanding of the 3D morphologic features of root canal systems that are not visible to the naked eye. This allows us to disinfect and fill the root canals at 40X closer than the naked eye. The highest benefit OF this technology to YOU AS A PATIENT; is that your tooth can be treated and saved as long as any other natural tooth. And YOUR NATURAL TOOTH IS THE BEST IMPLANT. The use of a microscope with a trained root canal specialist can lead to finding roots that would otherwise go unseen and untreated. Microscopic root canal treatments have consistently resulted in a better outcome because they allow for extremely detailed procedures.

Digital Radiography (X-rays)

An imaging technique in dentistry with minimal radiation exposure to the patient, digital radiography technology uses a small electronic sensor placed in the patients’ mouth to capture an image of the patients’ tooth which can be instantly seen on the computer screen. These x-rays are capable of revealing hidden caries, and even tooth decay hiding beneath restorations.

Digital radiographs have been introduced 20 years ago. We have been using the world class digital imaging system Gendex Radiovisiography (RVG) since the last fourteen years (2005). Today we have the latest intraoral sensor {Gendex GXS-700} The clarity and resolution of the radiograph helps the dentist in one of the most important steps, ie : diagnosis, treatment planning and follow up.

DC X-ray Unit; SkanRay Intraskan DC

Dr. Nandana’s Dental ClinicAlong with the digital sensor, the main Xray unit we use at our clinic is a High end DC unit. The unique SkanSHEILD® technology results in virtually negligible leakage radiation, ensuring both patient and clinician are not exposed to unnecessary radiation.

Dr. Nandana’s Dental ClinicWe use the unique sensor positioning system for accurate placement of the sensor to capture the root canals at various angles.
For additional safety we use the Standard of care for radiation exposure:

  • Thyroid Collar
  • Lead Jacket

BETTER DIAGNOSIS AND PLANNING LEADS TO BETTER DENTISTRY

The multiple advantages RVG has over traditional as well as high speed x-ray films.

  • No chemical processing
  • A clearer high resolution image
  • Easier sharing and storage

Most importantly, they cut the amount of radiation exposure to the patient by as much as 90%

OUR STERILIZATION STANDARDS

Until recently, the most advanced sterilization technology was found only in large hospital sterilizers. Today there is a growing demand for more sophisticated sterilization technology. The Elara tabletop autoclave is a reliable and robust Class B autoclave designed for the needs of modern clinics, where autoclaves are expected to meet sophisticated international standards. Class B autoclaving performance is achieved with a built-in vacuum pump, used for fractionated pre-vacuum air removal. Thereby eliminating air pockets from all load types and maximizing efficient steam penetration throughout the entire load.

Class B Autoclave

Used for sterilization of wrapped or unwrapped solids hollow and porous loads.

The challenge in autoclaving : Hollow porous and packed load types, as well as fabrics have one thing in common. AIR IS TRAPPED inside these instruments and fabrics resulting in air pockets that prevent the full penetration of steam into the instruments. It is known that bacterial spores can survive at 134 degree Celsius in air pockets.

What about infection control?
Our priority is to provide the state-of-the-art dental care while maintaining strict operating protocol. We use autoclave sterilization and barrier techniques to prevent infection

Everything used in your mouth is either disposable, or is run through a strict cleaning and autoclave regimen. We use disposables wherever possible. This absolutely prevents any cross-contamination First, they are manually scrubbed. Then they are cleaned in a chemical solution . Finally, they are sterilized in an autoclave. Larger surfaces are sprayed after each patient with a strong disinfectant then & wiped clean.
Those items that are not disposable are subjected to a rigorous sterilization routine in the state of the art technology of sterilisation
